During the week of 18 August 2013, together with our Christian partners in Moldova, we held a summer camp for women-at-risk and their children in Orgeev (Orhei), a town located to the Northeast of the capital city of Kishinev (Chisinau), the second one this summer. Once a thriving city, Orgeev, which had a substantial Jewish population in the beginning of the 20th century, now turned to a ghost town with most of the working age men and women gone to seek their fortune in Europe and the Middle East.
The camp took place on the grounds of the local Baptist church and included time of biblical reflection, counselling, crafts and games for children.
Thanks to generosity of our dear friends and supporters from North America, we were able to supply each woman and child with packages of food and hygiene items. Many thanks to all of you, dear friends, for helping reach women-at-risk and children of Moldova!
